Jimmy Page

If I could say who the greatest all-time guitarist is, I would have to say Jimmy Page. Don't get me wrong, James Hetfield is my all-time favorite guitarist, but what Page has done for the guitar world outweighs anything any other guitarist of our time has done. Jimmy Page had the amazing ability to be good at all types of guitar styles. He wasn't the greatest in any one category, but he was better than most at everything. Jimmy Page has probably influenced more rockers around the world than others of the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck, and so on. Jimmy Page brought to the rock world a recognizable style, but it was a style that never repeated itself.
Whenever I listen to or play any Zeppelin, each song is a new genre of music. Jimmy Page's ability to make each song different from the last has taught me to be versatile. Not only have I learned different guitar techniques by picking out Zeppelin tunes, but it has inspired me to play anything and everything that comes to mind, whether it fits certain criteria or not. The only criteria that written music should fit is whether or not the music fits the artist.
